Celebrating Research Series: Call for abstracts

All students who are currently completing a PhD/Master's degree are invited to submit a recorded video abstract showcasing your current research.

Interested applicants will be asked to fill out the Expression of Interest Form, following which you will be sent instructions of how to create a recorded video abstract that follows a specific format (guidelines will be provided).

The recorded video abstracts will be reviewed by a selection committee, with the winning video abstracts presented by ASSBI on various platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn) and receive a prize (certificate and complimentary ASSBI student membership for one year).

This is a unique opportunity to present your research to a wide audience!

Eligibility criteria

  • All PhD/Master's students are welcome to apply, regardless of whether you are an ASSBI member or not.
  • The research presented must be original research that you have been involved in to a significant degree.
  • If you have submitted an abstract to the 2024 ASSBI Conference or the 2024 Global Neuropsychology Congress, you are still very much eligible to participate in this video abstract opportunity by again presenting that research in this video abstract format.

ASSBI Student Ambassador Program

Every year, there is a call for applications to join the ASSBI Student Network, inviting  students across all health disciplines in Australia and New Zealand who would like to be a part of the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI) student community. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from all universities across Australia and New Zealand are encouraged to apply, as well as across all disciplines (e.g., Speech Pathology, Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Medicine, Social Work, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy).

More information will be made available once applications open, including descriptions of the positions that will be available. Applications typically open in October each year.

We suggest you subscribe to the ASSBI student newsletter to receive the latest updates as to when applications open! You can also view the ‘Student Ambassadors’ tab of the ASSBI website to see the current members of the ASSBI Student Network.
